Dr. Ekjyot Gill is a board-certified ophthalmologist and cornea specialist dedicated to providing exceptional surgical care while building lasting relationships with patients. As an Assistant Professor in the UCLA Jules Stein Eye Institute Department of Ophthalmology, he combines a passion for teaching with a commitment to clinical excellence.
Surgery is a central part of Dr. Ekjyot Gill’s professional life. He spends multiple days each week in the operating room, managing complex surgical cases, and overseeing all aspects of patient care in the surgical setting. In addition to caring for patients, he is actively involved in training the next generation of ophthalmologists, teaching residents and helping them develop advanced surgical skills. His dedication to education was recognized with the prestigious Jules Stein Faculty Teaching Award for Surgical Education.
Dr. Gill is known for taking on challenging and complicated cases and for his calm, thoughtful approach to managing the unexpected situations that can arise during surgery. He believes that outstanding patient care begins with trust, communication, and a genuine commitment to understanding each patient’s individual needs and goals.
Outside of medicine, Dr. Gill enjoys spending time with his wife and two children, who are the center of his life beyond the operating room.
